This is a lovely warm hearted tale about following your dreams, even when things go horribly wrong and you find yourself having to choose between your dream and family loyalties.

Gemma and her totally erratic friend Jasmine take up what appears to be a genuine offer to have a working holiday on a large rural property. Or at least Gemma believes it is a genuine offer until they reach their s destination only to discover the owner of the property is expecting his sister, not them.

And so begins a summer of new experiences for both the girls as they learn the hard way they are expected to get in and lend a hand with the cattle, fencing and all the bits which are a part of working property.

The fact the owner is drop-dead gorgeous and Jasmine has decided that rural life is not really for her simply adds to the many challenges they face as they Google their way through farm life.

The longer Gemma is away from her family the more she begins to fall in love with the wide open space, the rhythm of a busy farming life and the remote beauty which surrounds her. She realises her love of cooking is something she would like to develop but is challenged by the expectations of her family and their desire to see her move into the family real estate business, after her summer of freedom.

But the unexpected has a way of interrupting the best laid plans and sees Gemma returning to the city, trying to fit into the family business, taking up life where she left off, desperately trying to forget the past and the friends she made in her time in Bingorra.

Karly Lane has once again created a heroine in so many ways from a girl who has always tried to do the right thing and fit in with her family expectations, but eventually realises that the only way to happiness is to follow your dreams and tough out the rough stuff life can sometimes deliver.

Is there a happy ever after? Well you will have to read this gentle, enjoyable tale to find out!
